I have to agree with those who think they should be separate forums. There is little to no benefit to having it be a merged subforum when not all scripters are builders and vice versa as has been said earlier in this thread. Scripting related questions will get worse answers since they will more likely be answered by someone who knows nothing about scripting and will in the end, only frustrate the person asking for help.
Just to follow up:
We’ve not forgotten about this and are watching how things progress closely. We’ll continue to keep an eye on it, and if we think changing things around would work better, we will do that.
I’ll try to keep you posted as to our plan moving forward.

Some sort of naming convention would be useful. Even if it’s put in the rules, tag the title with [ S ] for scripting, [ B ] for building [ G ] for other, and leave it for anything general.
That would be helpful, but honestly how many people actually read the rules?
Adding a mandatory checkbox for the type of post might work, but I’m still worried about the fact that with the forums grouped the threads get pushed off the front page pretty quickly.
Thanks for the letting us know you’re listening Gordon.
It’s been a week since I made this thread.
The forums are still a mess.
And I shall continue to ignore the forums until something is done about it.
And I know for a fact I’m not the only one.
I used to see many of the same Builders (many of us members of the Building Helpers Group) helping out. They seem to be absent now that these forums have been joined.
Any updates on this?
Jeez, it isn’t getting any better…
People have tried suggesting using (BH) or (SH) at the beginning of their thread title, but very few people are using this.
I’ve even seen someone using (GD) for a scripting question.
You have to realize that the people using these forums are (usually) newcomers who don’t read any guidelines or rules for each forum.
If you go back to the older format where everyone could get better help from individual forums I think everyone would be happier:
Users would get quicker, better answers.
Helpers would be better equipped to answer the questions and not have to wade through questions they don’t know how to answer.
Spammers and people with ridiculous answers would probably not keep going to many separate forums and may just stay on one thread. I’ve seen a few on the GD forum who obviously came over from the SH forum as well as the ‘idiots’ I’m used to from the BH forum.
