When you clone the player’s character and assign it to the player manually (game.Players.CharacterAutoLoads is false) and then shift-locks, the character’s humanoidrootpart’s cframe seems to jitter when walking backwards or sideways. This negatively effects physics and game-specific functions relying on the HRP’s lookvector. In the clip below, this is illustrated (the red beam is the HRP’s lookvector, and the highlighted part is the HRP itself). This does not occur when you rely on roblox to create the character.
System information:
CPU - Intel(R) Pentium (R) CPU 4415U @ 2.30GHz
GPU - Intel(R) HD Graphics 610
Memory - 4GB
Here is also a video showing one of the negative effects of this bug on my game specifically. The ball shouldn’t be pushed that far back when walking behind it, and doesn’t if you spawn in the character normally. Moreover you can see the force direction (red line) be misaligned due to the incorrect lookvector (blue arrow).
It’s also worth noting that this bug only appeared a few weeks ago, it wasn’t always like this.
We’ve begun rolling back a change that we suspect is the cause of the issue you’re seeing. Can you follow up with us in an hour or so on whether or not the rollback fixes the issue? Thanks!
