Hello,
I’m making a game with some friends of mine and I’m having trouble deciding whether or not we want to use ViewportFrames. On one hand, they’re an amazing way to give our players a 360 degree view of an item but on the other hand, they can be very memory intensive at times. We want to make sure the game runs as smoothly as possible and ViewportFrames are one of the road blocks preventing us from doing so.
i run on a dual core 2008 cpu and had 0 lag rendering 6x2 viewport frames
Thing is, mobile users exist and our game already takes up quite a bit of memory.
My friend played on his samsung which he got in 2014 and had no issues either
Test for yourself Escape The Prison OBBY! - Roblox
Refer to this reply, our game has many details.
Plus, we’re trying to render many viewports for all the gears, modifiers and gamepasses in our game.
Like I said, it doesnt take up loads of memory.
It does, we have done our own tests. Refer to this part of my reply aswell.
Perhaps you’ve been using them wrong cause I got 0 issues with it. You manipulate the camera not the objects
