Simple tutorial on how to get bloom to work like you want

I see some people having issues with bloom making parts that they don’t want shine bright. Something like this:

Now this obviously doesn’t look good and because most people can’t find the solution they just give up with bloom. But some may just increase the threshold! This does make it look good but doesn’t give us that JUICE we need from the light. As seen here:

You can see that it looks quite dull.

So in this simple tutorial I’ll teach you how you can achieve such effect:

Here’s a rig for example:

See that there is absolutely no shine?

Well it’s extremely simple to achieve!

You see, the bloom instance does not have it’s size, intensity, and threshold properties clamped! Which means you can modify the threshold property AND increase the size and intensity property to extremely large values!

In my case, I am using these values:

You can modify them to your preference but in my case these work the best.

That’s all. Literally! It’s that simple.

Bye!

Wait. What’s bloom? I never found as anything useful. Does it just make things more glowey?

No poll >:(

I didn’t know that the properties weren’t clamped! I will make sure to use that handy trick… :>

Yes, it does make light look more realistic as shown in the images.

Now you do. :D

I guess I will add a poll. I wrote this quite badly because I was in the middle of class (LOL).
