Skinned mesh/custom character help

Hello! I’m working on my upcoming game, and i just finished the character, its much like an among us character. I sucessfully imported it, and I did a walking animation for it. I would like to test the character now to make sure everything runs smoothly. However, I need to use player.Character and not Starter Character since I would allow players to switch outfits. I am confused on how to script the player to make it into the character, also how to trigger the animations for walking, jumping, ect since it is not a normal humanoid rig.
I appreciate any help anyone can offer!
