Sodatime - Feedback requested

Hello, DevFourm! For the past four days I’ve been working on this project, Sodatime. I’m here mainly to get feedback regarding the current state of the game. The main basis of the game consists of you being given randomly determined colas from a vending machine, each of which has a unique trait. As of me writing this, there are about 20 available colas that can be given, but I plan to add more soon.

Currently, my plans include adding a soundtrack, unlock animation, custom models, a procedurally generated map and more.

I think the concept of searching for different soda types is interesting, but it would help with engagement if you had some way of cataloguing the sodas you’d unlocked (like a “soda index” menu that gives a description to all your unlocked sodas). Maybe you’ve already done this, but making certain soda types rarer than others might also encourage people to search.

I also found what looks to be a bug. If you click to drink a soda and then deactivate it while you’re still drinking, its effect will not play and it will be permanently stuck in your inventory in the drinking state.

Edit: I’m also not sure if the “Soda Competency” badge is awarding properly since I got over 10 sodas and didn’t receive it.

@fungi3432 I like all your suggestions, you seem to know what you are talking about, you have lots of experience with roblox devving huh ?

I agree with everything fungi said, i still don’t think the game can succeed tho.

Instead of only one soda make it so you can hold 3 in your backpack instead.

Add some monetization like the ability to get the soda from a premium/vip vending machine or something, or monetize the ability to hold 3 sodas.

Also tell the player with better sound effects and vfx if they got a rarer soda.
