G’day. I’ve uploaded some assets to the Creator hub. The thumbnails are stuck on full white images. The same white thumbnails also appear in Roblox Studio’s Asset Manager/Toolbox (where applicable), suggesting the generated preview itself is white rather than only the Creator Hub display. The original image assets upload successfully and render correctly in experiences (e.g. ImageLabels and ParticleEmitters). Only the generated thumbnails/previews remain completely white.
All affected uploads are PNG Image assets. While investigating this issue, I also found older image assets from 2021 in my inventory that never generated thumbnails either, while neighbouring Image assets display correctly. The word “Texture” in one asset’s name only describes its intended tiled use; it is not a different Roblox asset type.
I tried doing the “Solution” for a related problem in this forum post but it didn’t work:
https://devforum.roblox.com/t/decal-is-white-after-upload-image-bug/3267924
Things I’ve already tried:
- Waiting around 22 hours
- Restarting Studio
- Archiving the assets, waiting, then restoring them (suggested workaround)
- Testing the assets in experiences (they render correctly)
Has anyone experienced this before, or is this likely to be a Creator Hub thumbnail generation issue?
Expected behavior
The correct thumbnail should appear for each PNG image asset and be visible on both the creator hub and in the Studio toolbox.
