Something changed in ROBLOX studio in terms of dragging/resizing parts. How can I go back?

For some reason, everytime I drag something now it automatically snaps, and I’ll have to hold shift to disable snapping and drag it smoothly. Setting a movement and rotation increment doesn’t seem to have any effect too for some reason. It doesn’t to whatever I set those too, movement would always be 1 stud and rotation would be 45 studs. This was not the case before and it just suddenly happened. Anyone know what this is and how I can go back? Thanks.

you most likely activated Roblox Studio’s Precision Snapping, you can turn it off in the Model tab by unchecking “Enable Precision Snapping” or toggle it with Ctrl+Shift+X for windows or Cmd+Shift+X for mac to drag objects smoothly again.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately I do not see such an option for “Enable Precision Snapping” in the Model tab.

Okay this seems to work maybe? I am so confused. I disabled it but it seemed to have no effect. So I restarted Studio, and now dragging is normal again. But then I reenabled that to see if that really was the issue, but dragging was still normal. I restarted Studio with that enabled but again, somehow dragging is still normal even what that being enabled. So I’m really confused as to what the real solution is but dragging is back to normal now.

What was most probably the issue was a bug in roblox studio that caused the snapping to happen. So you indirectly restarting roblox studio may have caused it to reset which is why it is working normally now.

I had facing this issue for the past week but never thought to post about it. During that time I had restarted it multiple times before but the snapping persisted. It is finally normal now but again this is all very confusing.

Maybe when you disabled it roblox studio didnt register it correctly or the toggle itself is buggy and you restarting roblox studio with it off made roblox studio register it as off?

Go to File > Beta Settings and see if there’s something there about a Beta move tool. You could disable it.
