Status label does not update when switching bug reports unless page is manually reloaded

  • Go down to the “New & Unread Topics” section at the bottom of the page and open it in a new tab, then, in the original tab, click on the same topic (AKA have two tabs open on the same topic)

New tab:

Original tab:

The tab which was on the Closed report, will incorrectly carry over the Status onto the new report. This can be resolved by reloading the tab.

Maybe caused by the Dev Forum’s recent upgrade to a newer version of Discourse

EDIT 29/05/2025: This persists regardless of context, also occuring in DMs or posts in different categories.

Does this take a few hours to roll-out? It seems to still be occurring on my end

It seems as if this was resolved but the fix is unfortunately causing some more issues (or presumably so, since I only noticed this now - potentially it may even be a variation of this bug). The bug report status label now glitches out between former statuses while on a bug report page at seemingly random intervals. The best way to describe would be that it appears as-if the previously-visted bug reports are still trying to ‘fight’ to show their status as the status.

To reproduce, just simply navigate through bug reports with different statuses without refreshing (ensuring the label is rendered for a least a bit on each); then pause for a bit with the status label on-screen and you should see it glitching between the former statuses.

Thanks for the report here. We’ll take a further look at this

This issue seems to occour when you are actively looking at a bug report but switch to a different post like a announcement through notifications

This way the UI doesn’t update resulting in the confusion
