Hello. I’ve had this problem for a long time as to where I have many ideas, but I can never determine what kind of game that I am wanting to work toward. These ideas are vastly different and will not be able to work if I combine the ideas together.
How do you figure out what you truly want to do?
Whatever gets you the most excited is usually your best bet.
I have tried building for so many reasons before:
Building for money ends up feeling more like a job and less like a fun project.
Building for comradery can get dicey if its a big team project, due to creative differences if you don’t REALLY know the people you are working with.
Building for alcaldes from the community is never as fun as generating the compliments organically and can often leave you feeling short.
However when you work on something you are super passionate about it’s just super exciting and almost always leaves me fulfilled. (Plus you end up usually checking off some of those other boxes along the way)
Talk with someone else to tell them a few ideas and ask them what they think. Then work with others to cultivate that idea. Or start with whatever would be most profitable or what would be the easiest or fastest.
Try going through each idea one by one, playing a game that has a similarity to one of your ideas and whichever idea you have the most fun playing, and try to go for that.
