I’ve made a Slap Tower game and I’m trying to grow its CCU — ideally aiming for thousands. The game is playable, has decent features, and feels fun to me. But I’m stuck wondering:

Is growth mostly luck and timing with the Roblox algorithm?
Should I be investing in ads, sponsorships, or TikToks?
Or do I just need to be more patient?
Also — is the gameplay actually competitive compared to other slap games? I see some games with fewer mechanics and polish that somehow retain way more players (thousands concurrent players). Am I missing something core that those popular slap games do right? Despite a decent number of visits and engagement, my Gamepass sales are extremely low. Could this be a regional/monetization issue? A large chunk of my playerbase is from the Philippines
Would really appreciate thoughts from other devs who’ve gone through this. Thanks!
Update: It reached around 1k ccu but now it dropped to 90 very quickly and the average revenue per user is very low. Do you guys have any idea why? I would like to increase it is it a pricing problem?
Alright! So i might have a suggestion even though it’s around 550 ccu at the time of me writing this post. I would recommend if it drops significantly to put ur bid for each player lower. That would make less players but ads will run longer and wouldn’t have much spikes. Since more bid = more investment and more heavy monetization on ads
Just keep the bid low and grind on your analytics to get on the algorithm then u can stop running ads since Roblox will automatically recommend if you get in the algorithm.
1k ccu is pretty good! I would reason that it’s not doing as well as the 20k ccu ones are due to things such as. TikTok. It is the original. And other games that even aren’t the original have something special to them. Such as free slaps or wtv kids are into these days.
Thanks, I appreciate it. However I really need some help right now. Since its my first game having a decent amount of ccu, I do not have enough experience to monetize it correctly. The ARPDAU is very low and I already did some improvements but nothing seems to work. I don’t wanna miss this opportunity and roblox may decrease this game recommandation soon if the revenue stats does not meet the standards of this type of obby.
Well I couldn’t help you here unfortunately. Usually I would my self expect them to below because children don’t have that much money. People buying the passes are usually teens buying it for the fun of trolling or wtv. Maybe ease up on the bright UI and everything to maybe attract some older players.
But I just wanna say I also made a troll tower game and even though I know it would have also hit atleast 1k users I decided not to advertise it because this may die out really soon. And second it might max at 1-2k too. So don’t put all ur marbles in one jar. And make more games too. Every single front page game wasn’t a first try.
