Studio Camera Stuttering on MacOS 26.0

Having two issues -

  1. Camera in Studio stutters when panning and clicking at the same time. Using an external mouse connecting to my macbook.

In general, the camera panning and movement is super choppy and feels delayed.
I’m assuming this is because Studio thinks I’m using a trackpad? Even when it’s disabled in terminal.
All of my friends with a similar setup have the same issue.

  2. FPS cap on studio appears to be 120 on MacOS. Is this a VSync thing?

The FPS bug fixes when doing an install, with same settings - but reverts back to 120fps once restarted.

Edit: nevermind. reinstall stopped fixing it

Hey @Preston_Username, thanks for the report. Does this happen when editing your experience in Studio or only while playing it?

Both issues happen on both play solo and edit mode

I am having the same issue. Studio is sometimes fine upon startup but gets very choppy after a few tab-outs/ins. Studio appears to run at 120fps, but feels like 30 fps. The choppiness is bad both in play solo and edit mode.

MacOS 26, M3 Max
Logitech G502 limited to 250hz polling rate (had to limit the polling rate myself because anything above is unusable). Could this issue be related to how polling rate is handled on MacOS?

Hi. Thanks for reporting the issue. We’re still working to track down the issue. Two questions: 1) Did you start seeing this issue after upgrading to MacOS 26? 2) Are you using a magic mouse?

Hi! thanks for response.

Not using magic mouse. Logitech G Pro mouse. I’ve had this issue on all versions of MacOS

My macbook is closed, and connected to external display. Even disabling the trackpad does not fix.

Does this happen when the laptop is disconnected from the hub/screen? Does the behavior feel the same or different?

yup! but can’t tell when using trackpad

Sorry, I meant if you use the external mouse but not external display?

What refresh rate does your external display have according to the refresh rate in the mac os settings? Check on hub both connected and disconnected (Forget about what Studio is reporting)

Is the mouse connected directly to the laptop or via hub/monitor? Does it change behavior if you change the connection?

Bumping this because OP hasn’t replied and this issue is very annoying—apologies if overstepping

Samsung G9 240hz
Macbook 120hz
Mouse connected to USB hub (i tried two different USB hubs, same issue)

Macbook display w/o external monitor is fine as far as I can see, but mouse stutters but doesn’t effect camera movement (video attached)

External display stutters, even when main display/macbook lid closed. Feels like 120hz movement at 240hz.

Same behaviour with trackpad with both (standalone mac and external display)

What version is MacOS for you? Also

Same behaviour with trackpad with both (standalone mac and external display)

you are saying that you are seeing the stuttering with trackpad regardless of monitor, or you are not? OP says they don’t notice anything on trackpad.

Same question for you - what is MacOS reporting the display rate as for the external monitor in display settings? W/o the external monitor?

MacOS Tahoe 26.1

The trackpad stutters regardless, yes. It is not as smooth as it would be in the client

240hz for external monitor in display settings

What do you mean without the external monitor? Macbook display is 120hz and is “ProMotion” in settings
