As far as I’m aware this only happens when attempting to publish a built/downloaded copy of this place to any existing experience and I have not encountered this issue elsewhere as of yet. Publishing as a new experience works fine, as does publishing a fresh studio baseplate to new and existing experiences, but publishing this place from a file to an existing experience seems to simply break Studio. After Studio closes and checking the place I tried to publish to, the publish appears to not have gone through.
Step by step:
Download copy of provided place (in private content)
Open the downloaded copy
Attempt publishing the file to an existing experience/place
As a quick test, can you try opening that File in Studio, then re-saving it out to a different local file instead of uploading it? I expect this will also make studio quit but I’d like to confirm this.
Sounds like Studio is crashing for some reason and that will let me know if the crash is happening while preparing the data to save, or if it is happening during the upload.
This does not make Studio quit, and saves successfully. You can see I try saving over an existing file and creating a new file and doing so successfully in this video
This is just speculation on my part and might not end up being helpful, but could it be related to that window with only an outline that opens in the original post’s video ~20 seconds in when the upload pauses? A friend says it’s supposed to be the asset approval or permissions modal or something like that.

Looking into this as a priority now because it is apparently a wider problem than just your place.
I don’t have an update for right now but we’re working on it and will get back to you as soon as we learn something.
We believe that we found the source of this issue and have rolled out a fix. Please restart Studio to make sure you have the latest configuration and then try uploading your place again. Let me know if anything goes wrong.
