Studio crashes toggling certain visualization modes whilst playtesting

Either one of two things will happen:

  • Studio crashes immediately upon toggling visualization
  • Studio crashes after stopping the playtest if a visualization mode was toggled

Hey crusherfire! Do you know if this happens on baseplate or is it specific to the file you’re testing? I’m having a hard time reproducing it, but can see where it’s crashing in our logs. If it doesn’t happen on a baseplate, would it be possible to send the file via a private message so I can run it locally? Thanks!

Do you know if this continues to happen if you disable streaming? I have a hunch, but can’t get the file to crash on my end. If you can confirm, it would help me with forwarding this to the right team to get it taken care of!

The crash happens if streaming is enabled or disabled.

Hey, are there any updates to this? The crashes continue to impact our workflows.

There’s been some more work looking into it, it looks to be a complex race condition that isn’t affecting very many users. I gave this ticket to someone on the team that controls the visualizations, I just work on the panel that displays the settings (Visualization Modes), which is why I initially took it. They said it’s still on their radar, and I asked them to respond so you should get a reply shortly!

Hey! This doesn’t seem to be affecting many users so its low on our priority list, but I think I found the cause and we plan on trying to fix it after the holidays.

Hi, any updates on a potential fix? This issue is still occurring. Either Studio will crash immediately when a visualization mode is enabled (like network ownership), or Studio will crash when the playtest session ends.

This is still happening and doesn’t seem isolated to one particular place.
