Have been encountering a very painful bug for the past couple of weeks whereby if I attempt to publish a local file to ROBLOX, my Studio force quits with no error message.
This seems to occur when I publish any file containing a decent number of scripts / parts and has happened with various builds of my game. Strangely enough this only started when I got my new computer, though this could be coincidental timing. I have found one existing post mentioning what seems to be the same issue, but posted in the wrong forum lacking detail: Studio Crashing With Each Publish - #3 by riles_jan
I am able to select which place to publish to and press the publish button. The dots appear for a few seconds before what seems to be the outline of the audio permissions dialogue box - it remains transparent and Studio freezes before force-quitting seconds later.
This is happening consistently making it very difficult to develop.

This is an issue with Studio, there doesn’t seem to be a fix. It’ll be down to the Studio team to investigate, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to find a file that consistently reproduces this issue. If you have one and wouldn’t mind sharing it, @thirdtakeonit may be able to investigate further.
It’s pretty much a problem since I cannot do anything now, I have a file for which it happens consistently tho. What’s weird is that it only happens with this file and I’ve been able to publish larger files without problems.
I do have found the issue, it is most likely to be coming from an animation. Please look into each of them and look for one which has “rbxassetid://R” as ID. I don’t really know why it would make your studio crash like that but you should be able to publish your local file if you delete it? It could be anywhere into your game on my side it came from a tool.
This happens to me consistently in all newly created places. I do have an old potato PC, but I have never encountered this issue before.
Are there any solutions yet?
Still happening - even publishing an empty game causes this.
It does actually publish and create a new place, but it only creates the default baseplate, none of the place’s data actually gets written to it. After studio relaunches you have to find the blank baseplate that was published and then overwrite it manually.
Very strange bug, still persistent for over a month.
