Studio freezes for ~5-10 seconds when a plugin in toolbox switches its thumbnail

When hovering over a plugin/viewing a plugin’s details in the toolbox, studio works as expected, however, if it has multiple thumbnails and it switches to a different one, studio unexpectedly freezes for a long period of time (~around 5 to 10 seconds). The moment it starts responding again, multiple errors related to image, and animation pop up in the output.

This can happen again and again if the plugin details are still open.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open the Toolbox window
  • Navigate to Plugins
  • Find a plugin that has multiple thumbnails, hover over it and click magnifying glass icon
  • Wait for thumbnail to auto-switch or click the arrow buttons

Expected behavior

The animation runs smoothly without causing any noticeable lag or freezes and no errors show up.

Getting the exact same bug but I have noticed it causes an insane memory leak I left my pc in moon animators 2 preview window and after about 5 minutes my ram usage skyrocketed to 14 gb and was increasing exponentially faster

Hey @Dooron13 , thanks for reporting this! We’re looking into it now

Hey @Dooron13, would you mind following this:

  • Open Studio and leave it open for a minute
    • This is to make sure that our deployed version of Toolbox gets picked up
  • Close Studio entirely and reopen it
  • Now see if you still run into the same issue

The issue seems to be fixed now. Thanks!
