In local test if server catches an expectation hit, server window will crash.
I’m going to show screenshots step by step because recording all the proccess on video will take a lot of memory.
Server catching an expectation. After cleaning up the test or attempt of closing server window will stuck and window will become impossible to close.
At the end, I want to ask everyone reading this try this in studio. Just make a game with an error on server side a launch local test.
Probably it happening only on my PC. Here’s my dekstop parameters:
OS: Window 10 Pro
CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i5 - 12500
GPU: Intel (R) UHD Graphics 770
RAM: 16GB
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
A ticket was filed, but to begin the investigation, we need more information about it.
Is this issue still happening at your end?
If so, please provide a crash dump, a log, or a Repro Placefile so we can be able to investigate it right away!
Hello, thank you for your response.
Currently I was researching the bug I posted and I want to provide more details:
Local test server window crashes, when it tried to closed while render is paused, for debugging or manually pressing f5.
The crashed window will automatically close after resuming render.
At the end I must say, that the provided bug is working only for local test and only for window that controls the server.
I don’t know should I provide repro file, because based on my research the bug is mostly related to roblox engine. Everyone can launch local test, pause render on server and catch the bug. In the topic I said that bug appears when server in local test catches an expectation, and the exact problem was that server automatically pauses render for debugging.
Partially, the bug is solved, but should not window close even if render is paused, like in normal playtest?
Thanks for providing more info.
It would be great if you could share your logs and crash dump files of the repro incidents, since that would help us locate the issue more efficiently.
