Studio opens twice when using desktop shortcut

Every time I open studio and it starts updating, it opens the installer program twice. I’m clicking the desktop shortcut twice so it should only open once. The first one just updates studio normally, whereas the second installer gets a “critical error”. It doesn’t break studio in any way, it’s just a small execution bug. I’ve seen this on both my laptop and my PC, but they both use windows so I can’t confirm this as a macOS issue too.

I was using my laptop at the time so I will share the specs if you need them:
CPU:: 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1255U
Memory: 32GB, 4x8 chips
GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics
Laptop model: Microsoft Surface Laptop 5

Expected behavior

If everything works correctly, it would only open 1 studio installer, and it wouldn’t give me the critical error window saying that there’s already an installer running.

Thank you for the report. Could you dm me all the logs related to this issue? Both Studio and Installer logs would be helpful. Please refer to this article on how to retrieve logs, especially the Windows / Win32 part.

This should have been fixed. If you are running version 693 and above, we don’t expect this dialog to be popped up when Studio updates next time.
