Once every few weeks, most of my Roblox Studio settings get wiped. I use it like normal every day, I just open it up and click a game, and sometimes I find that my settings were reset.
This has been happening for a few months, seemingly at random. I use a VPN on my browser, but I exclude roblox.com and rdxcdn.com.
These settings are stored in the localappdata, so clearing temp wouldn’t cause this. I thought it was that at first because I use Microsoft PC manager which automatically clears temp after a threshold.

I expect my settings to be persistent until I switch accounts.
Actual behavior
My settings get wiped every few weeks for no reason. I didn’t change anything the day it happened or the day before, it happens unprompted which is very frustrating.
This other bug report is describing behavior that isn’t happening for me.
For them, studio behaves like it was installed for the first time. That doesn’t happen for me, only my settings gets reset which includes the custom icon directory setting. My local plugins and widget states save.
I always open studio via the shortcut on my desktop.
This happened when I logged out of studio. It’s as if these settings are stored on the Roblox servers, why is that? They should be on my computer and my computer only.
This has been happening to me for quite literally, years on end. It’s pretty annoying and unexpected when it happens. Thankfully it’s not very frequent, but it’s a pretty major hassle nonetheless to go through and manually apply all my preferences over and over again.
Just in case your studio settings get reset again, you can navigate to your local user folder, and then through \AppData\Local\Roblox\ClientSettings to get the folder containing your Roblox Studio settings, which you can copy after it saves (when you exit Studio, I think) and paste back in place when it gets overwritten for some dumb reason. As of now though, this bug is still really annoying and needs to be fixed.
Okay apparently this no longer works anymore and it still reverts your settings. What the heck.
From my experience, it seems to have reverted the theme colors alongside basically everything else, however the first time I remade the settings, it persisted when Studio restarted to apply the changes, and then the next time I opened Studio, everything reverted back to defaults EXCEPT the theme colors I had changed. I’m honestly not sure what’s up with this.
I’d like to bump this issue too. I’ve started experiencing this only today, but it has happened two times already out of like three. It’s genuinely annoying and I’m surprised no one’s even started looking into it.
Also happening to me, settings have been reset multiple times today and yesterday, resets all my graphics settings, script editor settings, debug settings, etc
Bumping this cause it keeps happening everytime i open a place. My graphics settings, debug settings and language settings all get resetted. Althought it does not affect my script editor settings.
