Studio settings completely resetting to defaults at seemingly random times

Edit 1: This has now happened 4 times today, but I cannot reliably reproduce the issue. I’m on Studio 0.710.0.7100702. The same settings are consistently being affected, as listed below.

Edit 3: Repro steps for this issue have now been identified (with the help of @HealthyKarl, @goodlogin2 and @IFearTheSky)

For the second time (28/02/2026), I opened Roblox Studio to see most of my settings completely reset. Some of the settings that I know were reset are:

  • Script editor theme
  • Icons directory
  • Incoming replication lag
  • Roblox assistant settings

Some things that were not reset are:

  • Studio theme (it stayed dark)
  • Studio tutorial
  • Any plugin settings/data
  • Enabled beta features
  • Studio layout

This happened once yesterday (27/02/2026), and just now today. This wasn’t triggered directly by an update (meaning Studio didn’t update right before it happened, but I did get an update several hours before), and both times it happened I opened Studio normally like how I usually do, by clicking the icon in the dock.

I am running Studio on macOS 15.7.4. (Edit on 1st March: I recently upgraded to macOS 26.3, and the issue still happens)

Expected behavior

I expect my Studio settings to remain persistent every time I open Studio.

this also happens to me, it randomly enables ai assistant and resets custom icons so hopefully it gets fixed soon

Same problem here. Keeps turning Assistant on and changing the language to badly AI translated German.

Having the same issue on Windows 11 with assistant and change camera speed settings.

Having the same issue too, second time replying on a post that mentions this. My graphics settings, language settings & debug settings all get resetted everytime i open a new place.

This issue has been persisting with me since yesterday. It resets all of my settings (language, icon directory, AI assistant..) almost every time I open studio. It’s SOOO annoying having to set them all back again an again.

same here, resets my custom icon path & code assistant settings but thats also all I have modified from default studio (other than dark theme)

They keep resetting my fonts and my icons. I prefer the classic icons, but when you take away my Comic Sans MS font? THAT’S when I get angry. I unironically like the Comic Sans font for ROBLOX Studio and I will do almost anything to keep using it.

This started happening to me around 3 times. I have a custom script editor font & selection colour and that seemed to be reset as well.

Experiencing the issue as well. My script editor font keeps switching back to the Fira Mono font (can’t stand it) and I keep having to force it back to Consolas. Same for the AI, like I don’t want it on, it is literally capable of deleting all your code and replacing it with incomplete garbage when asking a basic query on API usage. Absolutely useless.

Hopefully this gets fixed :pray:

Experiencing this as well.

  • AI Keeps getting enabled
  • Script Editor Zoom keeps resetting and zooming out on relaunch.
  • Studio automatically opens scripts I did not have opened before when launching a game.

My custom icons keep resetting on launch. I hope roblox fixes this soon :sob:

I can confirm this as well.
It’s been going on for me since last night.
My render settings as well as language settings keep going back to the factory default settings and it’s getting a bit frustrating.

oh my god this has happened to me today 4 times PLEASE FIX THIS I HATE HAVING TO MANUALLY CHANGE MY SETTINGS EVERY TIME I OPEN STUDIO

I’m experiencing this issue too on win 11. Some of my Studio settings reset randomly as well, even without an immediate update.

Experiencing this with windows 11 as well. Strangely, it only resets my Editor Quality Level from 21 back to “Automatic”. Roblox also broke the color tool for me roughly a week ago. So fun.. :roll_eyes:

I can confirm this has happened to me too.

  • Script editor zoom resets;
  • AI gets enabled;
  • Language setting gets reset;
  • etc.
