Hello! I had a suggestion, say if someone is misbehaving but they didn’t do it via reply/thread. If we had a flag button on a person page, it would help out.
I’m confused - what exactly is your use case for this?
Adding on this, I don’t think it’s too much of a hassle to just message DevRel. I’d imagine that users that cause large problems don’t happen nearly enough to justify this feature.
Presumably for easier reporting, it’s much easier to message Developer Relations though if you have a problem, so it goes directly to them, and you can keep tabs on the case. They can investigate further if they need to, even if the main issue isn’t on a public thread. Also, how is this more efficient? It would most likely take an extra minute or two to message DevRel.
This is unnecessary and potentially negative for the forum.
I cannot think of many cases where a user would break a rule without making a post on the Developer Forum breaking that rule/stating that they broke that rule. In this case, you should just report the post itself. Rarely, when a user does break a rule without making a related post (for example, using their status on the Developer Forum to scam other developers off-site), the developer engagement team can be messaged.
This feature may also cause confusion between whether to flag a user or their post(s) when their post or a series of posts violates the rules, and even discourage users from flagging posts in favour of flagging a user.
I believe that moderators are able to access a private thread when a message inside of it is flagged to review the context.
I understand what @ShelDev@dantheprogram@Dandystan and you are trying to say, you all make sense, and make me now feel silly (lol), I will now close the topic.
