Hey!
I’m Jack, I’m a university student from the UK, and as a little summer project, I started working on an “Emergency Dispatch Simulator” - a game where you act as the operator on the end of the phone, and dispatch units as required to the most critical situations.
Of course, this game is still very early in development, so a lot of GUIs and core aspects of the game are still placeholders (there is a HUGE amount of work going on into the UI by a friend of mine @jx_0sh - as i’ve never worked on UI before this project!), but I wanted some suggestions on how I can:
-
Work on the progression system
This currently works as a Level Up with XP, unlocking the next rank unlocks new units, allowing you to attend more severe and critical calls, each increasing in difficulty. You gain XP by completing calls in a timely manor, with the intention of creating a “Shift System” where the game provides a detailed report on how you responded to different incidents. -
Advertise the game to new users
This is my first attempt at creating a startup game as a solo venture (mostly) and I’m not too sure how to market the game to new users without spending what feels like quite a lot of money on ROBLOX advertising, which from my understanding, isn’t even one of the best ways to advertise the game - it’s worth noting that the supported devices for this game will be PC and Tablet, due to the nature of the UIs, whilst technically possible, playing on a mobile device would not be a fun experience. -
Improve the experience for new users
One of the critical aspects I want to focus on is helping new users fully understand the premise of the game and how to continue levelling up, as I mentioned before, the game is still very early, so whilst there is already a “tutorial” in place, I’m very much aware it’s not currently in an ideal state.
Any advice or support would help me massively.
If you want to checkout the game for yourself to give me some feedback, that’d be amazing also.
Thank you in advance!
