The texture I uploaded 1 year ago of a brick wall is considered invalid now the bug is active. I uploaded the surfaceappearance and it doesn’t seem to work anymore? The image has passed through moderation, the image isn’t archived, its fine, but why does it not work for me?
Hello.
are you sure that this model UV mapped good? if its not then there may be things like this
@fawrza
Hello,
Is it only this one texture that doesn’t work correctly?
Could you please provide an rbxl file that demonstrates the issue?
It was multiple.
Uhh weirdly all my textures started working again the next day. I’m pretty sure this doesn’t solve the issue as this happened multiple times.
This was the reoccuring bug I was referring to. I inserted an ImageID into a uv mapped arm for a custom character but my SurfaceAppearance won’t apply, saying the texture is unavailble? I assume this isn’t just happening to me
That’s for the additional information!
Does the issue go away when you reopen the Studio or re-insert the assetId a few times?
It could be a network or content delivery error.
Sometimes. Its complicated, but it bugged out ever since the tintmask thing released.
Hello,
Your issue is most likely happened due to transcoding delays that sometime happen due to a big workload on Roblox servers. There has been lots of improvements and bug fixes related to transcoding, since the time you posted this issue. Please feel free to re-open if you encountered a similar issue in future.
Regarding your texture being uploaded long ago, SurfaceAppearance uses a compact texture format that requires a separate transcoding to happen even if you had your original texture approved and used before.
