SurfaceAppearance Rendering

Hello, I was wondering if any instance with surfaceappearance gets automatically derendered whenever its not in my POV. I can’t find any related topics about it (or I just suck at googling). Im planning to implement a system where it disables the normal, roughness and metallic maps whenever its not in view or far away, but need to know if Roblox already has a setting or feature like that before developing it.

good question… I assume it would but I’m not sure. You can try and test it though. Put a bunch (like a BUNCH) of parts on one side and play the game. Look at the parts, then look away. See if you notice any difference in performance.
