Surfaces Not Rendering/Loading?

Surfaces don’t seem to be rendering properly on parts and such.

In studio, insert a part and change the surface types. Run or Play Solo. The surfaces shouldn’t render (well, they don’t for me). Mine just render as smooth. I have SmoothPlastic as material type.

pictures would be nice

Nah, no pictures needed, here’s why (it’s not a bug):

See, in studio, studs can render on every material. But online, studs only render on Plastic (not granite, not smoothplastic, etc.) and this is an intended feature.

In the last thread the OP suggested “Oh why does studio render them that way then”
…which is a good point. Hmmm… A ) It’s a bug in studio, or B ) it’s to show you possible surface texture connections on purpose.

Ah, thank you. This clears things up.

Seems like I’ll just have to use regular Plastic instead of SmoothPlastic.
