[Taken down for patch] Developer Console broke / isn't showing for anyone

This is in my place, online. Alertcoderf has this problem too, in his place.

Just started happening ~24 hours ago.

same

Everyone has it, also the no HTTP thing is the sync of the place.

And the other (Beside the blue one) has been there for ages

He’s talking about the command bar that should appear on the bottom when you have access to the server output.

Yup. I was just showing the blue stuff as proof that I’m in my place, online. The bar at the bottom where you input code is missing ):

Can confirm it is down. Maybe an exploit rose that needed the command bar disabled. :stuck_out_tongue:

An exploit has been reported related to this feature, allowing malicious server side script execution in a game if the creator is in that instance. We need to (unfortunately) disable this feature until we can patch the exploit. ETA for the fix to go live is 10/30.

Sorry for the inconvenience :frowning:

That is quite an interesting exploit.

Let me guess, when sending the script request, they fire it saying they are the owner?

FromLegoUniverse called it. Nice. Yeah, no problem then. Godspeed. The inconvenience it causes is inability to debug subtle bugs, like printing out a property of a generated brick from a save file. And making my biggerhead size 20,20,20. That’s important too.

If you guys need an output for the time being, I suggest the output GUI by oxcool1.

Obviously it doesn’t allow code execution, but you’ll be able to see the server.

Hmm, and it was said before that it was very unlikely that there would be an exploit like this :open_mouth:

The output works, it’s just the typeable console command bar that’s gone, Ripull / apparently-kevin. But I also recommend oxcool1’s output gui because the history goes as far back to the beginning of the server (as opposed to the f9 gui which starts clipping after an hour)

Oxcool1’s also will give line references for (what I believe to be) C-sided Lua-interpreted (blahdi blahdi blah) errors.

In other words, all those errors that pop up in the console but don’t have a line reference.

Loads of people here have changed names, for some obscure reason. It’s becoming trendy to be unrecognised.
