EDIT: I have a friend with an _ character in their name, the plugin functions just fine for them, and other users like me. Can you explain the issue that you’re encountering?

Well I haven’t seen any issues but it did create that folder no clue why

It’s for private chats. The user “dumby” is the first user in the private chat, “PaytonMFriday_pro56” is the second user. It creates a tab on the user’s end saying either “dumby” if you’re "“PaytonMFriday_pro56”, or vice versa if you’re the other person. That’s how it works for the user-to-user private chats. The “_” is what separate’s them.

can you add a feature that uses datastore to show previous messages even when you left studio and rejoined. and you can delete your own messages too

That would make sense but there’s one issue the only users are me (dumby_pro56) and him (PaytonMFriday) so I don’t know what up with that

Message deletion in update queue, and datastores aren’t really possible sadly because of how the plugin works. I’m pretty sure that if you rejoin studio it will save chats. It does for me.

Btw do you know why do I get

I can only use it when I play / test?

If Team Create is not enabled, your LocalPlayer doesn’t exist I presume. It needs a player to work. If it doesn’t have any valid players, it wont work. So this is an unfixable issue because of how the plugin operates. Or if you’re trying to test your game with the plugin, it will not load because of this issue as well due to how plugins work in test enviornments. All you can do is the fixes mentioned above like enabling Team Create if it’s disabled.

EDIT: I think it’s your Team Create because I can use it in a play test. It won’t exactly save your chats for anyone else outside of the playtest to see because I presume it’s on the client (your studio instance) during playtests, but don’t count me on that.


EDIT: It will break if you’re preforming a server-sided play session. It does this because no one’s playing the game as stated previously.

theres a kind ofg lame bug where sometimes peoples chats are just nothing

Can you tell me when this happens? I am aware of the :< bug (not sure why it removes “<”), but this one’s not something I have heard of. Check the ServerStorage folder with your game’s Id as a folder. Check if the chat’s even there. If it is, then it’s not updating the UI itself. Or if it’s somewhere else like a custom chat tab (group chat), that’s intended as it’s broken right now. If that’s the case, just stick to the “All” tab, or user-to-user private chats. Sorry!

Maybe try disabling and re-enabling the plugin. I’m not sure why this is the case. Have you checked that the plugin does have requested permissions like script injection?

Odd. I’m wondering if it’s username related. Who and what username is having trouble sending chats, or is it you, or both?

Also planned lol. Here’s all of the features related to message editing. I’m still not the best at making right click menus so that’s why it’s delayed.

also is this planned or when i try to add images that are not uploaded or made by me it doesnt work

If the Roblox API isn’t catching it, it wont work, and I wont be able to fix it. Is it uploaded to the creator store (if that’s even an option)?
