Terrain Chunking

Hi.

I’m creating an RPG and want to have a large, expansive world for the player to explore. I’m using terrain to create the landscape. At the moment I’m keeping individual areas of the world separate, with the player using a teleport system to get between them.

I was thinking about transferring over to a full open world experience with large amounts of terrain but was concerned about the amount of lag that might create for players. Does anyone know if Roblox uses a chunking system for terrain that would make it feasible to have large scale terrain maps?

If your wanting to create terrain in bulk you could use the part to terrain plugin.

Try turning on Streaming Enabled. It does exactly what you are wanting.
