Considering the fact that I primarily work with textures, this has basically slowed down the production of my games to a crawl - please tell me this is simply a bug and not a new “feature”.

unfortunately I think it’s a “feature”
“becus making studio easy to use and intuitive is less of a priority than making it similar to other editors” ???
If that’s the case, I might as well just ditch ROBLOX entirely and find a program that doesn’t go out of it’s way to take things that used to be easy and simple and complicate them just for the hell of it. --given as ROBLOX’s main draws are to make game development easy and simple and NOT a frustrating mess (see: most other programs). Still hoping to god that this is just a bug so I don’t have to completely ditch my hobby.
A similar frustration of mine is that you can no longer brush with the paint bucket or material tool, at least with the ribbon bar. You must select the part, then select the color or material. It slows things down. I like the organization of the ribbon bar, but that one limitation has me reverting away from it.
I think that if they’re not going to revert on these changes, a plugin would be the solution to our frustrations. I’ve never worked with plugins myself, but making a brush tool for these things doesn’t seem difficult.
This is probably just an unintended result of pasted objects being parented with their source. I do hope this is changed for decals. Otherwise it might be worth making a plugin to re-introduce this functionality.
I’m on the same boat with the paint bucket, I thought I would get used to it, but I’m just finding it to be less intuitive. If I want to change the color of selected parts then I can just use the properties panel.
