A common problem for developers attempting to modify or move certain UI elements is accidentally selecting a different UI element. Similar to physical elements, a property that allows UI elements to be locked and unselectable would be helpful.
Some use cases would be:
Selecting a small element near or on top of a larger one,
Not selecting a background every time you click,
The ability to resize and move descendants without affecting the parent and vice-versa.
I second and support this! As a UI designer and maker myself, it is difficult to lock and have the ability to not select any UI inside of studio whenever you’re working on a big project or some UI workplace.
If I recall correctly, there was some sort of setting called Selectable that doesn’t select UI objects (I haven’t checked or used it, might wrong here) inside studio or in-game. If that’s not the case, then having this would definitely improve development experiences and a nicer experience out of the Gekko.
Those are some good cases and points that will help out many UI designers and game developers, I have those issues at the moment for UI elements.
Would like news or some sort of update if this is possible and feasible to UI elements.
Hi @Norstbiel and @loueque - thank you for the request! I agree that this would be a nice workflow enhancement for UI development in Studio. I’ve shared this request with the team and we’ll take it into consideration!
