Here me out this game idea might seem dumb but the game is a game thst takes a year to beat and keeps tracks of your hours spent of the day with every 5 days you have new areas unlock and and tasks to complete. As far as I know no one as attempted this ambitious project yet. Would you play a game for a year? Also this game idea is based on The Longing which is a steam game that takes 400 days to beat.
would the game keep track of playing even though you are not paying?
A year songs like a lot. Imagine playing the game without taking any breaks, even for sleeping, for a whole year. I think that is little too much.
Good luck though
The longing is a game on Steam that lasts 400 days I would probably have to store all the data. Also you don’t have to play every day for every 5 days that past unlocks a new area.
Also im not making this game idea yet because making another game right now but J am rather introducing a different type of game never seen before on Roblox.
it’s a cool idea but it’s probably too big for roblox to handle
But has anyone ever tried to make this also I haven seen way more massive games.
Well i mean i guess you are right
What do you mean?
He can simply store their time in a dataStore. Shouldn’t be too hard/too complex for roblox.
Yes I could utilize datastores the only problem is the time and in order to track how long the player is in the game for and how login the player is out of the game. Im just saying has anyone ever done this before is this game idea a good one or not.
It’s a cool idea. Thoughts in no particular order… It’s different, so if the game is good enough, it’s also memorable. People do use Roblox for years, so much of the same base should still be around. It appeals to a rarer breed, therefore small audience. A smaller group with longer attention spans… most people these days have a 10 second focus time. It’s cool and reminds me in a very basic form of those Christmas things (calendar/card) where you open 1 door/window per day until 12/25. It’s something to look forward to.
Your right about the audience that would actually complete the game maybe someone would need to put this idea on a smaller scale that ranges from 25 to 100 days. In order to test out this idea.
It sounds something like Stardew Valley.
It sounds like a unique idea, I’d love to see it in action! However, an issue. Say I played that game and then quit for a while. A few years later, I decide to pick up the game again, and I’ve unlocked gazillions of features. That kind of would destroy the purpose of waiting. A solution to this is to stop counting days after a week of inactivity.
The more extreme type of time game I was talking about is a game called the longing where that games built around waiting while stardew valley is not a game that is built around as waiting as its core mechanic.
“Stardew Valley is not a game built around waiting” …unless you’re playing through winter. That season is literally just the waiting game if you’re a farmer.
Good point. I’d still like to see how that game plays out though, it sounds awesome.
However Im not going to be able to create this idea now as I making another game called mirrors which a puzzle/story. So the only thing is for someone else to take this idea and see if it works or not.
