I genuinely hate this UI. It’s a ridiculous minimalist design, counterintuitive, and somehow still manages to waste a huge amount of space with useless elements. For example, WHY ON EARTH is there a permanent GUI and Script tab taking up valuable space? Seriously, most of the time you won’t even use those tabs, so there’s no reason for them to be sitting there permanently, while essential tabs like the View tab were basically thrown away.
Before, the GUI and Script tabs only appeared when you were actually editing GUIs or scripts. It worked perfectly. There was absolutely no reason to change this. This is, by far, the worst Studio update in a long time.
And finally, another thing that really annoys me about this UI is that, for some reason, simply hovering the mouse over a frame near the toolbar causes it to open, which is completely unnecessary.
Conclusion, in my opinion, Roblox, you should explode this UI. I know you probably won’t do that (even though I think you should), so please, AT LEAST ADD AN OPTION TO DISABLE IT. Most of the community disliked this change, and you only need to look at the countless topics criticizing this UI to see that. There is absolutely no reason to force everyone to use this.
genuinely! I already have to use my PC with a intense blue light Filter and somehow Roblox Studio is still mega blue, like its straight up a accessibility issue not being able to change the simple Theme!
i love the fact that roblox decided that a UI for a game engine had to sacrafise its functionality for the looks

I end up searching for like 20 minutes for a tool i used to be able to get in like 2 clicks, only to realise the ui doesn’t even feature it anymore
And no, making my own widgets for the ribbon is NOT an excuse to be missing all of the features that we used to have.
It really is awful. They’ve gotten rid of the near-native Qt (in a bodged way, mind you) and replaced it with an awful, slow Roact (Lua + React abomination from what I gather) implementation and if you know anything about Luau, it runs inside a little hypervisor, hence why it’s slow. It just isn’t fit for purpose, and is the reason why the whole Roblox desktop app is just garbage as well and wasn’t meant to be.
So yeah, not only does this “Next Gen UI” look much worse, it feels and is much worse from a performance perspective. Having a proper ribbon structure like Roblox Studio had before made more sense as all other apps that utilised a ribbon of some sort followed the same structure. This honestly feels like using some sort of dodgy office application via Samsung DeX with my phone.
