Things to add to TD lobby!

Hello!
I have been working on my TD for a while and recently added a lobby so players can walk around and talk with each other easily.

This wasn’t something I particularly wanted to add but was more requested from testers and other people so I did so. I do think it will help new players so thats why I did do it. I added a ‘play’ button to go directly to creating/joining a match and a lobby button for everything else the old one had but I like the mix of physical and UI lobby kind of like AotR.

Anyways onto the main topic of, what should I add to the lobby? I added a codes stand and code somewhere hidden on the lobby. Then I also added a way to replay the tutorial but its still very empty!

Thank you for checking out my game, like last time any feedback/bugs would also be appreciated!

Not sure if it’s intentional, but the first thing I noticed is I can’t jump.

Suggestions:
For gameplay-related areas:

  • Gamemodes
  • Interactive tower showcase
  • Daily rewards
  • Tower museum showcasing the current towers in the game
  • Mission board

For interactive options:

  • An obby
  • Minigames
& fun gimmicks like cannons or teleporters that shoot or warp players to a different part of the lobby

Social + community:

  • Leaderboards
  • Fan art bulletin
  • Statue garden or Hall of Fame, either for the best players or for developers
  • Titles

Depending on the time of the year, you can also have rotational lobby designs.

The lobby looks very basic at the moment, in my opinion. Try to give it some character, give it a theme, include little details like NPCs walking around and add some background audio to make it feel alive.

Well originally the lobby was all UI so I just removed it so mobile players wouldn’t have that button on screen (I have readded it for when not in the UI)

Anywho I did a little improving but as time goes on things will be added naturally :100:

The main thing you need is a centerpeice or a big attention grabber. Something like a huge tree, that you can go in to see the leaderboards, or anything rlly.

Also i cant press play or no for the tutorial thing, so thats a big thing to fix

Thats my main suggestions

Please add textures :folded_hands: :sob:
Anywho i agree with Foxstream52, you should probably add an attention grabber, and also look at other TD games for inspiration!

The white text with a thin black outline on a pastel green background is bad for contrast, it makes it hard to read text. I recommend thickening the outline of text, changing the background color to something darker, or changing the text color to something darker.

For the Lobby UI (the view you see when clicking the lobby button), darken the backgrounds of each column so that things are more distinguishable. Overall, the lobby is very nice and detailed.

Yes I finally reworked a lot of the old lobby buttons which did not work on mobile but did on pc for some reason! Alongside this for mobile im working on bigger button sizes!
