This new Studio UI design is a tragedy. It might be time to move on

I’ve lost functionality, convenience, and decades of experience for a UI design as soulless and unintuitive as this?

I want to provide feedback, but what feedback can I possibly provide but to change it back immediately?

For nearly 20 years I have worked on this platform and for the first time I am seriously teetering on the edge of saying enough is enough and moving on to Unreal Engine.

Nobody asked for this, nobody wanted this, and no amount of “internal data” showing otherwise will make me believe you really did your due diligence with your community.

I was once told by a developer that 20% of users reverted the beta flag every time it was forced back on. I seriously reckon that when it comes to actual developers who work on this platform every day, that number is closer to 100%.

This is a tragedy, please listen to us.

same. and knowing Roblox’s record of not caring at all about their developers we won’t see much change…

Where is the View tab?

Explain to me why the View tab was removed, seriously, I want to hear the “logic” behind this decision.

I don’t understand, I don’t understand, I don’t understand, I don’t understand! :sob:

It’s really not THAT terrible. I admit it was hard to get used to at first, but I’ve been using it since they mentioned forcing it a month or so ago. I figured it was better to adapt than to cling to what was soon to be gone.

I used this to make the transition MUCH smoother:

The layout is very similar to the old one. Within a week I was pretty much accustomed to the new UI.

To import those JSON files to your Studio, go to this location on your computer:

  • Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Roblox\<userID>\CustomRibbonTabs
  • MacOS: ~/Documents/Roblox/<userID>/CustomRibbonTabs

And simply put the .json files to this folder.

hey i did that but it still does not work,my studio still looks the same

Restart Studio or do:

  • Right click on the Ribbon
  • Select Manage Tabs
  • Click on the three dots
  • Click Reload Custom Tabs

It ain’t that bad, you’ll get used to it

The only issue I have with this new ui is that they removed the View tab.

I’ve been shifting over to Unreal Engine recently and it’s one of the best choices I’ve made. Do it. It’s a much better engine and epic actually cares about its users.

I do periodically return to Roblox with smaller game ideas that will take a week or two.

I can’t get used to it, the new colors create enough contrast with the viewport for my eyes to start tering up after about 10 minutes of usage. I can’t physically use this.

I’m being forced between leaving the job I’ve been doing for 11 years or live with eye problems
