Here’s an update to a lobby I’m working on.
This looks so good, and the two things that I believe make a good build like this(unfortunately the the things that I struggle with the most)
Is 1. Good lighting
And 2. Small details
I can assure you’ve done a great job at both
Hey, thank you so much for that! It took a long time for me to make something this good.
The thing that made this easier was that I was just having fun. ![]()
The build looks pretty solid, but i think the shape of the big island looks a bit ugly.
I’ll try to give some advice but basically, think of the island as pixels being seen from top-down, for it’s size, the island looks too rough and square, so usually you’d want to increase the amount of pixels used to make it look more natural.
This lobby looks really great ! Well done @avtoul !
Just so I can understand whether your lobby fits your game : what type of game is it, and what is its core concept? Does it have a specific theme, or is it theme-neutral?
Gotcha, yeah I thought it looked a bit weird haha. Thanks for thi, I’ll work on it some more.
Thank you! The game is a version of hide and seek with some changes of course. Each map is a unique theme but has a similar style to the lobby, in terms of simplicity, colors, etc.
What is the server capacity? (How many players per server?)
I just want to know if the respawn area is big enough.
And how much time, on average, is there between each game and the map loading?
Because I find the map is quite large in itself, especially when it comes to the small floating islands accessible via small platforms.
I think players don’t have enough time to explore the map. (Perhaps the movement speed should be adjusted, or the map size reduced slightly.)
Anyway, do whatever you like – it’s your map, after all! ![]()
