Hello devforum! I need some tips on becoming a modeler for roblox studio. If anybody can give me video tutorials or tips on becoming a good modeler, then I would really appreciate it. Thank you for reading this topic!
Be confident, start small, get a feedback on your models/builds, keep improving, repeats
I’ll try that! Thanks for the tips.
when making trees i personally find UV Spheres are easier to use and move around.

When in grab mode this will move verts around the object good for making rocks and bushes or just making things look imperfect.
Thank you for the tips! I’ll try to use UV Spheres for the trees.
If your looking into starting with a specific software that provides great resources and tutorials that’ll help you into becoming a great modeler, “Blender” is a recommended option to start with to familiarize yourself with the software and to see how things work within it ect.
There are variety of tutorial series online to start with, If your just starting out I’ll try watching the blender gurus tutorial to comfortable with the tools and interface, as it’s informative in terms of learning the basic tools, techniques, and ropes around it. There are different tutorials that go into more detail and explain that will help you in many was to become more experienced.
Thank you for replying and telling me about blender. I’ll try blender out!
Noooo not the donut tutorial. I honestly found this tutorial to be useless when I first started modeling. It’s far more worth it to discover features on your own in my opinion.
I agree, this tutorial really helped me understand the basics
Always search for reference pictures before starting with modeling. Also, when using Blender, use modifiers (like mirror; they will save you A LOT of time).
Stack exchange or any blender forums will be your best friend. I personally did not like tutorial videos like the donut so I just started reading. The articles get straight to the point if you’re needing help on certain key-binds or why there’s this problem with whatever you’re working on, you can find it there. Good luck
Thank you for telling me there is a blender forum! I really appreciate it.
He’s made an updated version. The link is here:
i started by making what I wanted to know how to make, for example a tree, I watched a tutorial and followed what they were doing, remember the keybinds/what each tool does and repeat that process
but a lot of people admire this tutorial so you just might aswell check it out Blender 3.0 Beginner Tutorial - Part 1 - YouTube
Bit outdated but still covers the fundamentals. Especially for the type of modelling I do this helped me a lot more then the donut tutorial.
I would stay away from the donut tutorial and model things on your own, but it’s your choice. I think you’re better off learning the tools first than advanced modifiers to start out.
