Could you guys at least add color presets for the top bar? I need a solid black.

Making me change my whole theme to dark greyish just to make it match won’t cut it anymore. It really bothers me how the top bar flexibility hasn’t been updated, or better yet, removed.

If you aren’t going to do much with it, AT LEST solid black. Please. I’ll give you a tix.

Sure it looks nice and is needed in some games, but it’s really annoying to a gui designer like me who likes to have very small guis (giving the player as much immersion as possible), then have wasted space at the top. I can’t even use it. And in some of my games, it’s completely empty. I could be putting some neat “Time Left” or actual information I want my players to see, but instead I have this… bar.

This is the worst UI in the world, and I have already screamed sooooo many times about how dumb it is.

Im not going to rant anymore about it, but they need to let us make it fully transparent.

Are there any arguable reasons we have not been allowed to make it fully transparent yet? Like are there any design reason why we haven’t?

God forbid you make players unable to see the background of an almost-completely empty bar… How will they ever know how to access the menu then? They might get trapped in the game forever! And what about the consistent ROBLOX interface that we want to provide across all platforms?! (oh wait Xbox doesn’t have a topbar)

It feels like I’ve seen this thread about a million times now, can we confine angry rants about TopBar to a single thread?

If you want to display stuff there, or want to change it’s colour, then it’s quite simple:

All you need to do is set it to 0.5% transparency and put a frame behind it.

Not to mention most (if not all) Of the current player base is smart enough to know “ESC” is a Key they can use

Also, why do we have the players name on the right side near the leaderboard, if their name is also displayed on the leaderboard itself? You would think maybe it should just one of the two at a time (like if there was no leaderboard there could be the name, and when there is one the name to the right isn’t displayed),

Also, my personal opinion is that the healthbar should have remained at it’s old position (under the hotbar/toolbar) because in all the time that the healthbar was at the top right, i never knew it was. It feels like a hiding spot that hinders the players ability to find out their health while performing consistent gameplay (anyone who plays a war game or first person shooter can agree that taking a look at the top right of the screen for little information and looking all the way back can be the difference between being killed or not being killed)

Try to do a solid black, bright blue, or a bright green and then tell me how easy it is.

Solid black is simple, but you can’t get “bright” versions of the colours.

You get all the colours though, just darkened slightly.

What if I wanted to do bright colors. Also, we should not go through such methods to change the color anyways.

Hopefully you can tell how limited the topbar is. We can’t even add buttons to the top. How sad.

True that, actually.

I’m not trying to say it’s good, I’m just giving options because it is there at the moment.

Why not just allow us to have Transparency 1?
The Menu button etc will still be there, just without the actual topbar’s background.
It’s the place owner’s fault if it looks ugly in his place.

So are we ever going to get a response from admins why we can’t have transparency = 1? come on…
