TopBar is much smaller

The new Topbar is now much more smaller compared to what it was, I don’t know if this is intentional or not, if it is, please either add a scrolling size slider or a revert it because I CANNOT read anything due to the ridiculous small text.
It is even smaller compared to the pervious topbar.

Expected behavior

For the topbar to be back to its normal size or a slider/option.

Thanks for the feedback! Is your primary issue with the text readability? Meaning if it was more readable at this tiny size, would that be ok or it just needs to be bigger? What about the icon sizing?

The whole topbar size as a whole is unreadable for me, everything is squeezed together, and the text looks off-pixelated too in my monitor, this wasn’t the case before.

Yeah there’s a known issue with the current font and certain display resolutions. It’s more readable with the new Builder font — but we had unexpected issues getting that out at the same time.

But we are looking for feedback on what tweaks we should make in terms of spacing, icon size, text size, etc.

We also plan to let you choose between multiple options to suit your preference.

THIS IS A BUG REPORT?! Jeez. This new topbar is absolutely fine compared to the previous chonker. I have absolutely no issues with it. Actually… The text is indeed, just a little bit, too tiny…

The text is pixelated on 1080p monitors because of this (1px wide strokes!!) and it’s really annoying when using dark mode + having astigmatism.

I personally do not have an issue with the current top bar size. I like it more actually; it saves space for stuff below it. The large and clear icons should compensate for the small text. Since some people are having issues with seeing it, maybe this could be customized?

Some of the font issues should now be addressed if you close all studio instances, open studio, close studio, and open studio again!

Done that and the text is still small and pixelated.

This still appears to be the old pixelated font - if you don’t mind trying again to close all studio instances, open studio, close studio, and open studio again and seeing if that works. If it doesn’t, could you send some logs? We are starting to use a new process to release changes quicker to the community so we appreciate your patience and help with us figuring out any issues and navigating this new process!

I love the current size of this, I don’t have any legibility issues but I can see how the text is maybe a few points too small for some people. However I see some text is unexpectedly cut off. 1920x1080.

My topbar icons and text randomly resized, even though I wasn’t even focused inside Roblox Studio.

I personally have a really hard time reading anything in the top bar, scaling it up a bit would help. It also just doesn’t match the size of the font on any other ui element either.

Same problem. I was using studio then I opened a different place and now it is like this.
Everything is too small and the buttons don’t show all the text.

The same thing happened to me, for reference here’s a comparison of a screenshot from before this bug appeared vs. after this bug appeared:

I have no clue how this happened

Ok glad to know this is not just me lol. This definitely needs to be changed back, some of the text is so small its genuinely hard to read

Using the Builder is fine, as it’s the current Roblox font family. I understand that it’s used for many areas such as promoting new features, the Developer Relations challenges, and so on… Now, on Roblox Studio, it’s a new introduction.

However, compared to the old one, the fonts are smaller. It’s impossible to read what each icon represents properly because it cuts off with an ellipsis. For example:

  • Fixed Functions
    → “Transform”
    → “Geometric”

  • Home
    → “Import 3D”
    → “Properties”
    → “Constraints”

  • Model
    → “Constraints”

  • Avatar
    → “Character”
    → “Animation”
    → “Accessory”

  • UI
    → “Appearance”
    → “Constraint”
    → “Style Editor”

  • Script
    → “Command”
    → “Breakpoints”
    → “Call Stack”
    → “Performance”

  • Plugins
→ (Every name of the plugins you have)

I’m aware that some developers who replied to this thread may or may not find it a big deal rather than a nothingburger, but it’s important to remind that it can impact the UX (User Experience) for new creators or even those who got affected by this update. It’s inconsistent. And if we don’t have an option to zoom the top bar, that’s a red flag for bad accessibility.

These smaller icons now make any buttons with dropdown options incredibly inconvenient to use as you have to be incredibly precise when clicking the corner of the icon to bring up those options. It’d be convenient if we had something like a middle-click on the button to bring up those options.

I’m having the same issue. It’s so annoying as it cuts off, eg, the Plugin Names, etc. I hope they add a resizable topbar feature or something like that.

Agree! We just wanted to get a test out there to see where the general preferences are. We’ll be making additional adjustments and offering options.
