An item that was released yesterday as part of The Hatch and said to be going limited after, Tortegga, has gone limited after the 24 hours but it is not able to be traded.
I bought a bunch of them before spotting a message on social media saying that it wasn’t tradable, and sure enough I re-checked the page and it isn’t. Of course, this is a bug, as all Roblox-created limiteds are supposed to be tradable and being able to trade is a big part of why a lot of people buy premium. I haven’t seen it reported yet so I figured I would put in the report here so you guys can hopefully get a fix in before the holiday weekend. Thanks.
The new limited was just placed on-sale. I highly recommend Tortegga should get fixed as soon as possible because it remaining no-tradeable can likely influence the amount of sales the item receives. Most people buy hoping to trade the item afterwards…
I’m assuming this is because traditionally items limited u without serials are spawned in by admins and are untradable so you cant just cash them in for free Robux
I believe the cause of this issue is although the item appears created by Roblox, the actual people doing the uploads and the creators of the meshes + textures on the items do not have whatever permissions are necessary for Limited U’s being tradable. Years ago the Roblox account would always be spotted as online whenever items were about to be published, and they eventually changed it so that Brighteyes and others in that department could publish from their own accounts but show as Roblox being the creator.
In other news, I’m guessing none of this is going to be seen until Monday but this recently gone limited item is also not tradable:
The limited-time event items created by Roblox — which are sold for Robux and appear on the side of the screen — have all been turned into Limiteds in recent events, with some of them initially being untradeable but later made tradeable shortly after.
Given this trend, it’s completely understandable that you’re expecting the same change for this item too (as well as for other items from the same event that were also sold for Robux with a limited-time timer and later became Limited), and any necessary adjustments should be made accordingly.

Additionally, I understand anyone can reply here freely but whether this is or isn’t a bug really is not even in the conversation at this point, and I don’t appreciate when people who seemingly don’t know what they are talking about come in and post a meaningless reply in order to diminish the issue. I have been trading on Roblox since the day the trade system came out in 2012 - if this wasn’t a bug I wouldn’t have made the thread. This is a general comment and I hope no one takes it too personal.
I don’t understand why Roblox would refuse to make these tradeable even if that were the case. It’ll only result in less people buying the item, since it acts the exact same as a UGC Limited.
Yeah, thats definitely a large part of why the eggsteroid only had 1.3k sales. Obviously none of the items are exactly dazzling or what people actually want either, but people are desperate enough for limiteds nowadays that if its tradable will buy almost anything for the right price.
They haven’t gotten around to this bug yet as staff hasn’t responded, but I’m sure within a couple of days these items will be up and tradable like nothing.
It is now Thursday evening, over a week since I submitted this ticket. I fully understand we had a holiday weekend so things may be backed up, but I along with many others have certainly been hoping to at least get an acknowledgement reply on this thread saying it has been assigned for further review, even if not fixed right away. Over the last few days, I’ve seen other similar threads being closed and directed to here since this was the first one, but as I said we have not yet received any information on this original thread if this bug was assigned for review or not. I’m hoping we can get a reply to this soon, and I’m sure if we are assured said items will be tradable at some point in the near future when the bug is fixed, sales on the newest event item (Tereggcotta Flower Pot - Roblox) will be better off.
