I need some advice on how to make this house look better (other than the color scheme, which is the one traditionally used in the area). The door and the gate are only placeholders.

I think one improvement would be to add detail to the wall to match the density of details on the windows and roof.
This is only the first house, i am planning to make more. Each of them has something different, but i need to get more references in order to figure out what kind of wall decorations i could use. It’s hard to find any reoccuring theme as each house is made differently, so i don’t really know how to decorate the walls without assigning the house a geographical area, as many of these are specific to certain areas or even single villages or towns.

I found an architecture guide made specifically for that area (Southern Transylvania) but it doesn’t give too much info on the wall decorations, unfortunately.

Ah, I see the problem here that the walls really are that simple. You could model those star-like window holes and break and rotate some roof tiles to make it look more organic.

If you should continue with your work, the house looks similar to the photo and you should only use the lighter color but congratulations
