As the title suggests, I opened ROBLOX Studio today to do some work only to find that when I tried to use Animation Editor on one of my rigs (that used to work and always did before that) would output an error:
What doesn’t make sense is that it shouldn’t be conflicting, as it’s welded and not rigged to the model. (For further reference, most of the parts are named the same as they are welded onto the player for recoloring.)
I ran into this problem today, but it seems like every weld and welded part in the rig needs a special name and I think people have to apply special names to welds and welded parts now. I guess it’s not just joints for now.
I’m not sure about this, but that’s about as far as I can help.
This sadly seems to be the case and it took me a few days to see that this was the issue I was having. This seems like a rather weird change to have been made but there is probably some reasoning for it. Thankfully, I don’t think that it requires individual welds to be renamed, just the parts. One reason that I see this as a weird change is because accessories that you apply to a model now require you to change the name of their “Handle” after they are bound to a part in order for the Animation Editor to function if there are multiple accessories.
