Some newly uploaded UGC emotes are bypassing intended restrictions and causing major gameplay issues. These emotes can make your avatar:
- Fully invisible to other players
- Move at unnatural speeds or teleport-like motions
This bug is also reporting an invisibility vulnerability that is not related to the speed emote glitch. More information about reproduction steps have been put in PM of this post.
This creates an unfair advantage in competitive games, and it also undermines the integrity of the emote system.
Reproduction Steps
- Equip a UGC emote that uses these exploits (example below).
- Join any experience that allows emote usage.
- Play the emote.
- Observe that the character either becomes invisible or gains unintended movement effects.
Note: Creator reproduction steps will be in PM.
Example Items
This specific emote demonstrates the invisibility effect when played.
Expected Behavior
- Emotes should not be able to go outside the validation bounds and studs per frame.
Actual Behavior
- Some UGC emotes are being used to bypass the validation requirements, leading to invisibility and speed glitches.
Impact
- Creates unfair advantages in games.
- Potentially harms the marketplace by allowing exploitative items.
- Negatively affects both players and developers relying on fair gameplay mechanics.
