Greetings to you reader, I’m UndauntedK and I like to model armour, the kind of armour that makes you look like you eat sheet metal or a bowl of rocks (proper heavy armour, but not exclusively). This is a forum page for me to show off models I have on the UGC page already, and other work in progress models I am considering. I’ll update pages on here as often as I deem necessary.
Because of my scheduling being “one day I make something in a few days, another day it’s been a year and it has no textures”, I am not looking for work, but I want to show off the things I have made/been working on, maybe showing off my thought process and concept art I follow/use for inspiration respectively.
Hopefully the things I have on here can inspire you to make some things of your own or simply say “hell yeah” as you see them, if you have any questions you can send me a message, but I’ll most of them time the “why” on me making things boils down to “I want to wear it” and “I think it looks cool”.
Everything is modelled in Blender and textured in Substance Painter respectively.

Heavy Knight
The Heavy Knight set was my first full complete UGC set that I made almost two years ago (7th June 2024), i was looking at (unsurprisingly) heavy medieval armour, then saw this image in particular-
This absolute unit drawn by Palamarchuk Mikhail is basically what the Heavy Knight is based off of (basically IS) and I decided to model this guy to the best of my ability, giving me the following below-
Model (Shield is a hodgepodge of different shields like the pavise)

Model with 2D Clothing
When I finished this set and uploaded it, I was quite excited to have something I modelled and textured available for wear. It was also when I realized I can use my old clothing making skills to make masks for the textures (so the materials are identical on the accessories and clothing) like below.
Example Mask Segment
I am still quite fond of this set, but nowadays I find myself wanting to remodel it, tweak the design using more than one image for reference, and give it some PBR textures, but for now that will have to wait another day.

Castle Golem
The Castle Golem was my second accessory set uploaded (24th January 2025) and is a favourite of mine (at this time I only have two sets published but this is even with my WIP sets on mind) this set is inspired by literal castles and a couple of armour sets, like the Uragaan set from Monster Hunter: World, Havel the Rock’s armour from Dark Souls (mainly the stone aspect), and an EOD/bomb suit because of the collar (I realized later that is looks like a rook chess piece (shield was modelled at a later date and was inspired by the Babel Shield from Monster Hunter: World).

Variants being Basalt, White Granite, Sandstone and Base (Tempered)
I am super happy with this set, even if it was sort of rushed. I love the fact its made of stone, got chains to hold the shield in place, but with PBR accessories being possible I don’t just want to slap a new coat of paint on it and call it a day, I want to remodel it.
A problem I had when working on this set was I had to cut down on the bulk of the chestplate (frontwards mainly) since it was either me splitting it in two or shrinking it a bit, which I did.

(WIP) Verdigris Armour
This one is simply the Verdigris armour from Elden Ring. This has been in my files for a while because I am indecisive with how to texture it, but I plan on eventually finishing it. I am uncertain if there will be problems with me publishing it for others to purchase, but if there is I am happy with it being personal wear.

WIP Textures
So far I am quite happy with how I did the material and the tasset texture (made sure the UVs are the same size and rotation per tasset piece and applied a height alpha to each one)
The problems I had was me being too much of a perfectionist, but when I sat myself down and worked on it I realized there was some issues with the model when I started to texture in some details, so it was delayed again, but like I said at the start of this post, eventually, it will be finished.
I do feel for this set when I get back to it I really should dabble with 3D clothing to help it pop a bit more.

(WIP) High Metal Armour
This armour set is simply the High Metal armour set from Monster Hunter: Wilds, I want to model this because it is armour set that says “I eat sheet metal for breakfast”. I liked the idea of modelling this set for a while, but this has been in my files for a while also, not as long as the Verdigris set though. I am unsure if there will be problems with me publishing this for others to purchase, but if there is I am happy for it to be personal wear.
Concept
This is probably the deepest I have studied a model, getting close screenshots, looking at how it reflects light in different environments, etc.

I am very happy with the look of the green metal; I think I have captured the scratches and smithing marks(?) that are shown ingame. Similar to the Verdigris set, I need to try and kill the perfectionist in me, though the main metal is basically sorted, I just need to model the rest of the tasset and bag, and maybe consider making some 3D clothing for it- especially the leg guards, but I may as well make an accessory version for R6 avatars since they still deserve some love.
I have also considered making the Heavy Bowgun shown in the bottom left concept image since it would be cool not just to model it, but to also see if I can get the folding mechanism down (mainly to choose how it would be worn on your back).

(WIP) Castle Golem Remodel
In terms of general remodels and models, I think this one has to be my magnum opus. I took the initial design of my Castle Golem armour and enhanced it.
Model (so far)
WIP Textures
Model-wise I decided to enhance the overall presence of the set, adding more chains to the set itself, making the tasset different stone plates, making the front metal part a gate, actually splitting the chestplate into a front and back part to keep the intended bulk, and other details.
I noticed some visual issues on the original model (issues to me anyway) but I won’t explain them in much detail, but I am moving away from the procedural cells to make the different stones thrown together look more like they’re assembled by drawing them in manually and then using the almighty color selection option in substance painter; this allows me to make a mask that looks like a Picasso painting, but it allows me to differentiate the different stones that collide so the noise map isn’t (visually) consistent on them, and allows me to do things like subtle differences in the shading, or if I felt like it I could make a version made from different stone types altogether.
I have considered taking inspiration from the Terminator Space Marines for a different back chestplate, with it either being a bigger wall, or a straight up siege tower.
(Rough) Reference of idea
