UI Button Crashes when using Virtual Cursor

I’ve been receiving reports lately of a crash happening within my experience, Oaklands, on controller devices. If you use the virtual cursor to click on the cash button, the Roblox engine will freeze and promptly close. This only occurs when using a controller. Traditionally this button should open our in-game store menu.

Locally cloning this menu results in it not prompting the crash, leading me to believe it’s something to do with the store menu being instantiated. I’ve managed to isolate this issue into a repro studio file.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Open Repro Place File
  2. Use a controller’s virtual cursor to select the cash button
  3. The studio file should crash
  4. In the event it does not crash on the first attempt, close the menu and retry

Reproduction Demo Video:

Expected behavior

The button to not crash studio and for the menu to open correctly.

So I’ve got some good news for you, we’re already tracking this issue and a fix is already on it’s way out. The fix is being turned on for PC/Mac today and it’ll release for console as we roll out 689 for those platforms.
