As you can see, on opening my experience this morning, four of the many UICorner objects I set up last night have some incorrect UDim strings. Not entirely sure what is causing that, as I’m not sure which UICorner we’re talking about.
The log message does not let me click-to-object, and the log also fails to provide an ancestry-prefixed name to identify the culprit.
Expected behavior
Errors stemming from parsing property strings should also identify the source of the property with a user-navigable method.
In other engines, this would be as simple as clicking on the error message to select the offending object.
However, in Roblox, I think it would be better to simply append a new line to these messages with an Ancestry-Prefixed Name, ideally suffixed with a child index for duplicate named children.
Something like:
StartGui.BuggyUI.CanvasGroup.Frame.Bounds.Top.Menu.Buttons.Button(1).UIShadow.UICorner - Child (#2)
Honestly, I’m not even sure what this message was about. I combed through all my UICorners from last night, and nothing jumped out as me as invalid, so I assume the warning was a notification of a “fix”, but what was that fix?
Additionally, if an invalid property string is “corrected”, we should see the before and after in the log.
