Following the recent update to local secrets, I am now unable to access the Security tab of Game Settings. Attempts to access trigger the following warning:
Prior to this update I had a local secret saved, wondering if that failed to migrate or something? It fails to retrieve the secret in game code as well.
Hi @ChiefWildin, you mentioned having a secret saved before the Local Secrets update. Did you have a chance to test it in your game prior to the update? Was the game able to retrieve and use the secret successfully?
Yes I did, and it was able to read it correctly. I used JSON formatting for a single secret.
We are not able to reproduce the issue on our side. However, we are working on a fix to add better error handling. The fix will make the Security tab visible even when there is an error in migrating the secret. A head-up is that you might need to recreate the secret.
Cool, no worries. If I can get into the tab, I can recreate the secret. I have ways to work around it in the meantime, so I’ll just wait for that patch. Thank you!
We have shipped a bug fix today in the latest Studio update. The Security tab now remains visible despite secret migration errors. You may need to recreate the secret.
