I know which thread you probably found from a few days ago, but there is an older thread that goes more in-depth on this. AFAIK nothing about this has changed yet, although I could be mistaken and your problem is entirely different.

Yes, unfortunately, Roblox hasn’t enabled scripts to be able to change MeshId’s that could be a good feature suggestion.
