@DonaldDuck5150 Hey, if you want to stop encountering issues like these, I would recommend turning off not using the Beta Features as this issue is known to be part of a Beta Feature and therefore not a high priority for the Roblox Studio team. From what I know QoL is a beta feature that has the least bugs and probably the best for functionality on Roblox Studio. (Snap to part features)
I am having the same issues. Randomly all my studio keybinds will break, along with the go-to-part, key, and all the panels where you can normally delete, duplicate, copy, and paste models, also no longer works at random times. Sometimes they won’t fix themselves and I have to reopen the game for it to be fixed.
Thanks but I turned off almost all of my BETA features and the issue still occurs
Hm, that’s what seemed to fix it for me. I’m not too sure, if you’re using a fully updated Roblox Studio and turned off Beta Features, I’m guessing this is just a general bug then. Hopefully should be fixed soon.
its not only you, loads of people (including me) are experiencing this, its super annoying.
This bug also spreads to other areas such as; individual parts, and unions since I can’t either delete, group, union, and separate until I do wacky combinations that involves inserting a part. I hope this bug gets fixed fast because it is incredibly annoying to restart studio just to have my functions broke after 20+ mins of using it.
Nice to know im not the only one with those issues. it’s really irritating tbh. Currently the way im somewhat getting around it with things like unions is unselecting, selecting a different union and then select the broken one, sometimes works, sometimes not. Ungrouping i just shake my fist and cry but well…
Hey everyone, I wanted to make a reply to what I said. I didn’t actually encounter this issue until a couple of days ago. It’s kinda annoying lol.
I did find a fix to it, if you select other parts/models, then go back to the same part/mode, l it will allow you to configure it. Not sure how it happens, I will try to replicate it. I guess Roblox Studio just thinks that you aren’t selecting anything…
Been having this issue sporadically for about two weeks now. These are identical parts. I tried with and without Studio Build Suite (my preferred building plugin) since that has a section tool that’s different from the default. I found that selecting the Part in Explorer allowed me to finally delete the part in the video, but I can’t confirm if that’s a consistent workaround yet. EDIT: can confirm this is not a consistent workaround
Also the delete/copy/etc remains off even after deleting another object, so @veldvin I can confirm that it is not a 100% workaround. It might be a workaround sometimes or was fixed on your end from some other unrelated action.
Also @nowodev I just want to set the record straight that Roblox concurrent player counts would have zero affect on Studio functionality, especially considering I’ve had this problem before this high concurrent player count, and haven’t have this problem when Roblox has had high concurrent player counts in the past Just wanted to say this because I always see a lot of people blaming player counts or any variety of Roblox issues when that’s never the issue.
Thanks for the correction, I see you were referring to API issues
Roblox did in fact experience API issues during that time due to the extreme load that changes to a place, the user I replied to was seeing that issue.
Maybe, and fair, but that’s not this particular issue
Well that was the issue of the user I was replying to!
Try selecting multiple items, not just one. It’s hard to replicate it, it just happens randomly.
Does the issue stick to a particular part/model? i.e., in your video if you went back and forth between the two would one show the issue and the other would not?
Also, you mention also seeing this for regular parts, is that right? This originally seemed to affect models specifically but looks like it’s more general.
I’m having trouble reproducing this myself. Any other information about what you were doing leading up to the issue would be helpful. Thanks.
Also experiencing this. It normally occurs after I duplicate a part, but it doesn’t affect every part I duplicate.
In the video I uploaded, the cylinders are ALL duplicated parts, the brown flat parts as well
You can see at the end I delete one of the brown parts using the “Delete” key, which does not work for the parts with the delete option greyed out, but after undoing that delete, suddenly the options to delete the green cylinder are back.
Yet another bump, this is stopping me from building which is very annoying for me
It seems that for me it happens when I box select a few parts or a model.
Yup! I can switch selection between parts and the left one is always normal and the right one is always bugged. The trouble is that at some point, that “bugged” state is removed, usually but not consistently from me copying/deleting/etc another non-bugged model, or something else unrelated that I can’t track. It seems like I can’t just wait it out without doing some other action first. I have also had success in closing/reopening Studio to clear the “bugged” state but with the amount of objects we edit reloading every time this happens is unrealistic.
It happens to individually selected parts, multiple selected parts (if one of the “bugged” parts is one of the multiple selected, they all can’t be deleted/copied/etc until that “bugged” part is unselected), and models as well, but I don’t know if that’s because the whole model is “bugged” or if one of the parts within are bugged (like the multiple selected case). I also haven’t been able to consistently replicate it.
Regular part manipulation to build in a Team Create enabled place (though I’m the only one in the session), only using Studio Build Suite as a plugin. A lot of selecting, copying, deleting, grouping, undoing and heavy use of keyboard shortcuts. It seems to happen most when duplicating, but I’m not sure if that’s accurate. If you want more info, troubleshooting, or files, message me
Good luck with the replication!
For people hitting this issue, can you please help by answering the following:
- Are you in a Team Create enabled place? If so, are you the only creator or are there others?
- Do you have any errors in your Output Widget?
- Are you able to purposefully get into this situation if you try? If so, what is the sequence of steps you did to do so?
Also, if you are able, can you please upload your log files for a session where you’ve been seeing this? Instructions for doing so are https://en.help.roblox.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016022492-How-to-Retrieve-Roblox-Studio-Logs . Please don’t post your logs in this thread but follow the instructions on that page. Thanks for the help.
- Yes and only creator
- No
- Yes. All I have to do is click on “certain” unions/models and all options such as group/ungroup, union, delete will be completely unavailable unless I click on an unaffected union/model and then back on the certain one.
- This happens both on Team Create enabled and disabled places
- No
- for me, it seems random
