Recently, I came across the weirdest issue I’ve ever encountered on Roblox: I couldn’t promote my group’s experience. Despite being ranked as an Administrator in the group and having full access to edit the place/experience, I simply couldn’t get the Ad Manager tab to show any of my group’s experiences.
I contacted the group owner—and even he couldn’t promote the group’s experiences.
At first, I thought, “Well, the Ad Manager is still pretty new. Maybe they haven’t figured out how to support group experience promotions yet. I’ll just use other methods to attract players in the meantime.”
But today, I opened the Sponsored Experiences tab—and saw people promoting their group experiences! I was thrilled. I immediately jumped over to the Ad Manager page… only to find that nothing had changed. My group’s experiences were still missing—and not just for me, but for the group owner too.
That got me thinking: Could Roblox really allow external users to hack together a workaround? Probably not. But the groups listed as “Creators” on those sponsored games were clickable and accessible. I expected some sort of error when checking them out, because as far as I know, there’s currently no official way to sponsor group experiences. You can’t even register an Ad Manager account as a group.
So… what’s going on?
I’m starting to suspect that some users might have special access or connections with Roblox staff that allow them to manually sponsor group experiences. And it might not be such a rare privilege either—because the Sponsored tab is full of games created by groups.
Any thoughts on this?
P.S. I know this is speculative—don’t take it too seriously—but something definitely feels off. Why isn’t there a simple, official way to promote your group experience on Roblox? Why does it seem like you need some kind of workaround or special access to do what others are clearly doing already?
