Unable to save a local copy of place if saving to Roblox fails

When using the “Download a copy…” button to download the current place file to the local machine, Studio will first attempt to save the place to Roblox.
If this save fails for any reason, no place file will be downloaded.

I believe this is a bug as it didn’t used to be the case with downloading place files.

If it’s somehow intended behavior then it’s definitely an oversight, as being unable to save or publish to Roblox is a main reason for wanting to download a local copy in the first place, to ensure no work is lost.

I’m actually writing this with a studio place open that I’ve been working on for the last several hours and am unable to save due to a Roblox server error.
Since I can’t download a copy to publish later when the severs are back up, I’m forced to keep Studio open in the background until I’m eventually able to get a save though.

Expected behavior

The place file should be able to be downloaded regardless of Studio’s ability to save to Roblox.

Hi. We’ve fixed the issue and download is no longer a roundtrip to the server.
